Unintended Sabbaticals

Sometimes your USB port doesn’t work on your computer and as we all know, blogs without pictures suck.  But have no fear, we have returned with visual aids for your ocular pleasure!  On to pinball my friends!

Lots to report so lets just take it game by game and I’ll run through it fast:

Monopoly – done and out the door two weeks or so ago.. made a nice appearance at the Chicago Pinball Expo in case you were up there.  Lots and lots of mid-shop and final pics on this one.  Turned out great.

So the good news is now the garage is down to 3 games and I have space to move again.  Hooray!  The bad news is one of those games is still Comet, waiting on the board to come back from repair still.  Not a big deal now that we’re down to three though since we have room again to move.

I swear Whirlwind is going back to the arcade sometime very soon, I think this one has been in my garage quite a long while now as it has been put in front of a few different games already.  But don’t worry, it’s almost done!  Rebuilding the flippers tonight, little wax and some insert and cabinet cleanup and I think she’s good to go.  Note the topper now has some additional lighting… 2 cool white frosted tied to the lightning GI strip, 2 UV supers tied to the playfield front GI, 1 yellow flasher tied to the 100k bonus light, 2 white flashers tied to left and right lightning flasher strip respectively.  Between that and the new topper paint job it really pops.

The Getaway – the playfield hinge bracket issue is fixed now after some new springs, a vice, and some pliers to straighten the bracket back out.  Also, I think I found the issue with the ramp-down coil.

Oh and check out the new Middle Tennessee Pinball League website if you’re in the middle Tennessee area looking for a pinball tournament.  The new website is a bit raw at this point but it does have a calendar!
